Handshake is the powerful, user-friendly, online career management system for students and alumni of Missouri State University. Log into Handshake from this page or from My Missouri State.
Accessing Handshake
Logging In to Handshake
Visit Missouri State’s Handshake login page to access your account. Log in using your Missouri State University account (the same credentials you use for the My Missouri State portal and other MSU services) on the button that says “Sign in using your Missouri State Account.”
No access to your Missouri State Account?
Current students and anyone who has been enrolled at Missouri State since Summer 2017 already have a Handshake account. If you have an active Missouri State Account, use the top button option to log in to Handshake.
If you do not have an active MSU account, including former students whose MSU account has been removed in accordance with the MSU Account Lifecycle Policy, log in on the second Handshake button labeled “No access to MSU Account? Sign in here.”
Students lose access to their MSU accounts after a year, so it’s best practice to log into Handshake within that time period and update your primary email address to a personal one.

Creating an Account for Alumni
Alumni who graduated before Summer 2017 can create their own Handshake accounts by following these steps:
- Visit Missouri State’s Handshake login page. Use this link to ensure your account is connected to the correct institution.
- Select “Sign Up”.
- Enter your personal email and create a password, since you do not have access to your MSU Account anymore. Provide us with your MNumber and dates of attendance.
- Check your email for a confirmation message and click the link to complete registration. If you don't see the message, check your spam folder and add handshake@notifications.joinhandshake.com to your contacts.
- Your request will come to the Career Center. Once we verify you are an alumni, we will approve your request to create an account.
