Options for GEP 101 – Career Unit

  1. Career presentations
    Provides an overview of resources and services that assist students in deciding on a major and developing career plans.
  2. Class visit to the Career Center
    Provides an overview of resources and services that assist students in deciding on a major and developing career plans.
  3. Career counselor administration and interpretation of career assessments
    Initiates the first steps in the career development process, i.e. self-understanding and career exploration.
  4. Kuder Journey class assignment
    Explore interests, skills, education, and values in a comprehensive inventory and identify occupations that are aligned with this information. Then, schedule a class time for a career counselor to follow-up with students as a group, or have the students schedule appointments to follow-up individually with counselors in the Career Center.
  5. Career research utilizing resources available through the Career Center
    Familiarize students with the realities of career areas and help them make decisions that fit their needs, values, interests, skill, and personality. Choose from one or more of the following:
  • Online resources
  • Personal visits with career professionals
