Thank you for allowing us to partner with you. We strive to provide you with the most up-to-date career information to help you support your students.

Because all classes have moved online and in-person appointments have been suspended during the COVID-19 outbreak, the Career Center provides alternative methods for delivering presentations and meeting students for class assignments.

We provide the following opportunities and services:

Class presentations 

Important: If you would like a member of the Career Center to make a virtual presentation (via Zoom) or to provide a pre-recorded presentation and/or other resources, please complete the following form. We will contact you to confirm the request. Request a presentation by completing the Presentation Request Form.

Class assignments

You may choose to assign your students to visit a member of our staff for various reasons. The most common include the following:

  • Résumé/cover letter review
  • Mock interviews
  • Kuder Journey/assessments

If you assign a career-related project to your class, please complete the Class Assignment Form. Because in-person appointments have been suspended due to COVID-19, our appointments with students are by phone, video call, or email.

Common reasons for referring students to the Career Center

Following are some examples of how the Career Center can assist your students. All of these services are free to students and alumni.

Individual career counseling 

For students who wish to better understand how their interests, personality, values, and skills relate to careers, we offer individual appointments. These appointments vary depending on each student's needs. Career counseling is useful for—

  • Students who are undecided on a major
  • Students who want to change their major, but either are unsure of a different major or wish to confirm that a major is a good fit for them 
  • Students who are happy with their major but uncertain about a career path

Internship/job searches

Assistance with and review of résumés, cover letters, graduate school applications and personal statements, LinkedIn profiles, and other job- or graduate-school-related documents

Mock interviews

Students of all majors benefit from practicing job interviews. In addition to in-office or Skype mock interviews, students can also practice with InterviewStream.

Following are important policies regarding Career Center presentations:

  • A minimum of two weeks' notice is required to process a presentation request.
  • Career Center presentation hours are from 8:00 a.m. (start time) to 9:00 p.m. (end time), Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Friday.
  • A minimum of 10 students is required to receive approval for a non-class presentation. Student organizations that request presentations during non-work hours (after 5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday) must submit a roster of participating students to the presenting Career Center staff member 24–48 hours before the event. 
  • The Career Center reserves the right to cancel or modify the delivery of requested material for presentation requests in the following situations: a) outside of Career Center business hours, b) do not meet minimum participation requirements, and c) Career Center staff/GA is not available for the requested non-work hours presentation.
