WORKSHOPS

Résumé Madness

Receive a quick review and tips on your résumé. All day event held twice a semester in various locations around campus. Bring a hard copy of your résumé and visit with a member of the Career Center staff.  More information

"Powers of Association" Networking Event

Held in the fall, the "Powers of Association" networking event is an opportunity for students to informally network with representatives from professional organizations. During this two hour event, professional organizations are invited to set up informational booths to promote the benefits of membership, as well as mingle with students. This allows students to practice how to network since many careers are launched through networking. More information

Mock Interview Day

All day event held each fall. Sign up for a time slot that works with your schedule and go through a mock interview with a representative from an area employer or Career Center member. More information

Networking Etiquette Dinner

Held in the spring, the Networking Etiquette Dinner is an opportunity for students and alumni to network with employer sponsors while learning proper etiquette for a business meal. Dinner includes soup, salad, entree with a vegetable, starch, rolls, and dessert. Vegetarian meals are available upon request. More information

Speed Networking Event: Life After Missouri State

This event will assist students in being more prepared to network and learn how to access the hidden job market. Alumni and employees from local businesses will participate in an hour of networking during the  “Speed Networking” sessions and provide students the opportunity to further network with those in their career field.  More information

CAREER FAIRS

Opportunity Fair

The Opportunity Fair is a free event for exhibitors, the purpose of which is to introduce students to various opportunities to gain experience and exposure through paid and unpaid positions, including volunteer work. Organizations that are in the non-profit, government, healthcare, law enforcement, and graduate/professional schools are welcome to attend.  More information

The College of Business hosts multiple events during the Fall semester aimed at recuiting College of Business students. More information

Career Expo

The annual spring career fair open to all students and alumni from all majors. The employers in attendance are national, regional and local companies from all industries, excluding the field of education. These employers will be looking to for full-time and part-time employees, as well as interns. This career fair is sponsored in consortium with Drury University, Evangel University, Southwest Baptist University, and College of the Ozarks. More information

Education Day

Annual Spring career fair open to all students and alumni from all majors, the employers in attendance are national, regional and local school districts looking for teaching candidates. This career fair is sponsored in consortium with Drury University, Evangel University, Southwest Baptist University, and College of the Ozarks. More information
