Jack Hunter has been Director of the Career Center since December 1998, when he came to Missouri State from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. Jack's undergraduate degree in Political Science is from Colorado College, Colorado Springs, CO. His MBA is from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD.

Addye has been with the Career Center since August 2009. She holds a bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Central Missouri and a Master of Education degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Multicultural Counseling from the University of Missouri- St. Louis.
Addye is a SafeZone counselor with experience in mental health counseling, academic counseling, and career counseling. She is excited for the opportunity to help students discover their interests, skills, values, and passions in order to make an informed career decision.

SuzAnn has worked at Missouri State for approximately twenty years. She was previously with the Cooperative Education office before it was combined with Career Planning and Placement to become the Career Center. SuzAnn has also worked with a Community College in Texas as a program director and as an educational testing consultant.
SuzAnn has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with an emphasis in Social Studies and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling. She also is an instructor of IDS 110 and IDS 120 (Career Life Planning) and is an active participant in campus activities.
SuzAnn thrives to give encouragement and positive reinforcement to each student with whom she comes in contact. To think outside the box and to explore options and opportunities. . . "If you always do as you have done, you will always receive what you have always gotten." Look beyond!!

Chandra became part of the Career Center staff in August 2009 after receiving her Master of Science degree from Minnesota State University- Mankato in Counseling and Student Personnel-College Student Affairs. Her Bachelor of Arts degree is in Literature, Science, and the Arts from the University of Iowa.
Chandra enjoys career counseling because she feels that one must continue to learn more about themselves, which talents and skills to develop, and how to articulate these in order to have a meaningful career.
Chandra hopes that by working with students at Missouri State University throughout their collegiate careers, she can help them use their college resources and experiences to market themselves effectively to employers upon graduation.

Angie joined the Career Center staff in August 2009. Originally from Wisconsin, she recently graduated from Marquette University with a Master of Education degree and emphasis on College Student Personnel Administration. Angie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis on Professional Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Along with her background in career counseling, she has a variety of experiences in higher education working with undergraduate admissions, campus recreation, community outreach programming, and academic support services for NCAA Division 1 student-athletes. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to assist Missouri State students with discovering their paths to success.

With a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English, Valerie has put her education to good use. She is currently the communication coordinator for the Career Center, where she has worked since July 1991. In this capacity, Valerie develops various office publications, prepares presentation materials, and teaches IDS 110 and IDS 120. Valerie also teaches per-course for the English Department.
Before joining the Career Center, Valerie experienced a variety of careers relevant to her major: magazine staff writer; public information specialist for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources; and Lecturer in the English Department. Valerie is a member of the Society for Technical Communication (STC) and Association of Women in Communications (AWC). She is the advisor for the Missouri State student chapter of AWC.

Margie has been at Missouri State University since July 2002. She previously worked for an Outplacement Agency in Sacramento, CA, as a Career Consultant helping clients in the job search process after down-sizing of several corporations.
Margie's education background includes a Bachelor of Science in Business with an emphasis in Marketing and Human Resources and a Masters of Science in Education Counseling specializing in Career Counseling. Her work experience also includes eight years in underwriting, supervising and quality control in the auto insurance industry.
Margie is a member of the Springfield Area Human Resources Association, National Career Development Association and American Counseling Association. Margie enjoys working with college students to help them understand themselves better, teach them about career options and how to become marketable for the world of work. Margie is driven by the saying, "Give a man a fish, you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish, you have fed him for a lifetime."

Chalanda came to the Career Center in July 2005 after almost 7 years in the Missouri State Athletics Department. She graduated from Mid-American Nazarene University with a degree in Psychology. Chalanda is also a Certified Professional Secretary. Her favorite experiences are helping individuals become independent and watching them attain their goals.

Kim has been with the Career Center since July 2002. She is designated as a Master Advisor and is also commissioned as a Notary Public for the State of Missouri. Kim is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management.

Pat has been with the Career Center since September 2006. She graduated from Missouri State with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and holds master's degrees in both clinical psychology and library studies. After 30+ years pursuing library, mental health, and social service careers, Pat "retired" to southwest Missouri and now fills her days with greeting students, scheduling appointments, and watching students grow.
Pat enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and just hanging out at home with her husband and two spoiled dogs.

After being a stay-at-home mom, Vicki began working at Missouri State University in 1996. She has worked in various departments, which has given her the opportunity to learn different aspects of Missouri State University. Vicki enjoys assisting students and the public. She believes that you should look at life with a sense of humor and continually challenge yourself to learn new things. By challenging yourself, you allow yourself to be open to new ideas, which in turn will keep you active and young at heart.

Katie Henry

Katie graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies and minor is Sociology here at Missouri State University. She is currently working on her Master of Science degree in Secondary School Counseling combined with an agency track and a Graduate Certificate in Conflict and Dispute Resolution. Katie interned at St. John's Hospital in Human Resources and at Ozarks Technical Community College in Career Employment Services before joining Missouri State University's Career Center.
Katie most enjoys working with students to help them find their major or career that fits their personality and interests. Her main focus is on Career Counseling and job shadowing. She is enthusiastic about helping students find a major/career that they have a passion for and find rewarding.
